Vanderbilt women’s basketball stayed at No. 5 in the AP Poll after a week that saw wins over then-top 10 Oklahoma and Texas but a loss to then-unranked Georgia.
The Commodores (24-3, 10-3 SEC) beat Oklahoma, 104-86, and Texas, 86-70, at Memorial Gymnasium but lost to Georgia, 76-74, in Athens. The Bulldogs entered the AP poll at No. 24 after that win.
Vanderbilt was also ranked No. 4 in the NCAA tournament selection committee top 16 rankings released Feb. 14, but that was before the loss to Georgia.
Mikayla Blakes continues to be the nation’s leading scorer at 26.2 points per game.
