After a month-long hiatus, Tennessee basketball ascends back to a top-25 national rankings.
The Vols (20-7, 10-4 SEC) are ranked in both the USA TODAY Coaches Poll and AP Top 25 poll following its 69-65 win over Vanderbilt on Feb. 21. They are positioned at No. 22 in both polls.
Tennessee was last ranked in the coaches poll at No. 21 before its 91-67 loss to Florida on Jan. 10. The Vols remained in the AP poll until their first loss against Kentucky on Jan. 17. Tennessee was a regular in the AP poll with a program record 90-week streak of being ranked, second only to Houston.
The season turned for Tennessee after the Florida game. Since then, the Vols have won nine of their last 11 games with two losses to Kentucky. They’re on a four-game win streak that includes victories over Mississippi State, LSU, Oklahoma and Vanderbilt.
The Vols close the season with two more ranked opponents on their schedule. After a road game against Missouri (18-9, 8-6) at Mizzou Arena on Feb. 24 (9 p.m. ET, SEC Network), Tennessee hosts No. 18 Alabama on Feb. 28. It plays at South Carolina before finishing the season against No. 21 Vanderbilt at home.
