Mikayla Blakes and No. 5 Vanderbilt women’s basketball will try to win the Commodores’ second consecutive game against a ranked opponent when it faces No. 23 Alabama in Nashville at 6:30 p.m. CT Thursday, Feb. 26 at Memorial Gymnasium in Nashville.
Vanderbilt (25-3, 11-3 SEC) is coming off an 81-79 victory against No. 18 Kentucky on Feb. 22. Blakes, who leads the nation in scoring, had 35 points in that game to become one of two SEC players in the past 15 years with nine consecutive 20-point games.
The Crimson Tide (21-7, 7-7) are coming off a 76-71 win against Florida on Feb. 22, which ended their losing streak at three games. Jessica Timmons scored a career-high 34 points in that game.
This is the only meeting of the season between Vanderbilt and Alabama.
