Vanderbilt women’s basketball will face Iowa in a non-conference game in Sioux City, Iowa on Nov. 15, both programs announced on June 2.
Tipoff for the game at the Tyson Events Center is set for 3 p.m. CT. A TV channel has yet to be announced.
The game is an early marquee matchup for the Commodores, who will enter the 2026-27 season with high expectations after going 29-5 and reaching the Sweet 16 in 2026, where they lost to Notre Dame.
Iowa went 27-7 during the 2025-26 season. It was the the Big Ten tournament runner-up to UCLA and earned a No. 2 seed for the NCAA Tournament, though it suffered an upset loss to Virginia in the second round.
The Hawkeyes have reached the last eight NCAA Tournaments. Led by all-time Division I scoring leader Caitlin Clark, they reached the national championship game in 2023 and 2024, losing to LSU and South Carolina respectively.
The Athletic ranked Iowa No. 14 in its early preseason top 25, released in April after the transfer portal had closed, with Vanderbilt ranked No. 8.
The Commodores return a roster headlined by 2026 SEC Player of the Year Mikayla Blakes and Freshman of the Year Aubrey Galvan, as well as 5-star freshman Olivia Jones and transfer Mia Woolfolk. The Hawkeyes feature 2026 All-Big Ten selections Ava Heiden and Chit Chat Wright, transfer Dani Carnegie and McKenna Woliczo, who ESPN ranked the No. 6 recruit in the Class of 2026.
Vanderbilt announced a non-conference game against Belmont at Bridgestone Arena earlier this spring. The game against the Bruins will be Dec. 18.
