Vanderbilt basketball broke its two-game losing streak, defeating Georgia 88-80 on Feb. 25 at Memorial Gymnasium.
No. 21 Vanderbilt led by as many as 20 during the first half, but a run by Georgia cut that to seven by halftime. The teams traded big buckets and runs during the second half.
The Commodores (22-6, 9-6 SEC) led by 10 at one point in the second half but a 10-0 run by the Bulldogs tied the score. Georgia (19-9, 7-8) couldn’t manage to take the lead, though, as Vanderbilt made enough shots down the stretch to hold on for the win.
Devin McGlockton scored 17 points and had 10 rebounds. Tyler Tanner also had 17 points, plus six rebounds and five assists, and Duke Miles put up 15 points.
