Vanderbilt basketball has landed its likely starting center from the transfer portal, as 7-foot Colorado transfer Bangot Dak announced his commitment to the Commodores via Instagram on April 19.
Dak in 2025-26 averaged 25.7 minutes per game, with 11.5 points and 6.5 rebounds. He shot 49.2% from the field and 73.6% on free throws. He is a strong shot blocker, recording 50 blocks, though Colorado was a poor defensive team overall.
Dak also avoided turnovers − he had 46 assists to 42 turnovers − and generally stayed out of foul trouble.
Dak is the third player to commit to the Commodores in three days, joining Washington State guard Ace Glass and Nebraska forward Berke Buyuktuncel.
Currently, Vanderbilt is slated to return three scholarship players from 2025-26, including guard Tyler Tanner, wing Chandler Bing and center Jayden Leverett. However, Tanner still has an NBA draft decision to make. Forward AK Okereke could return if he gets an NCAA waiver for another year of eligibility.
