Vanderbilt has come alive in the transfer portal, as the Commodores’ men’s basketball team on Sunday added its third reported commitment in as many days.
Former Colorado forward Bangot Dak is headed to Vandy, per his Instagram account.
The 7-0, 203-pound Dak, who has one year of remaining eligibility, should bring an inside presence for the Commodores, after averaging 11.5 points, 6.5 rebounds, 1.6 blocks and 1.4 assists for the Buffaloes this season.
Dak shot 49.2 percent from the field overall and 25.9 percent (14-for-54) from three-point range.
He pulled down at least 10 rebounds in six games this season, while blocking at least three shots in seven contests.
A Nebraska native, Dak was listed No. 98 on The Field of 68’s top 100 players who entered the transfer portal this year.
The Commodores on Friday added a pair of portal transfers in former Nebraska forward Berke Buyuktuncel and former Washington State guard Ace Glass III.
The 6-10, 244-pound Buyuktuncel averaged 6.5 points, 5.6 rebounds and 1.9 assists for the Cornhuskers this season, while the 6-3 Glass averaged 16.1 points, 4.5 assists and 3.0 rebounds in his lone season at Washington State.
Vanderbilt is in the process of filling out its roster after a number of departures.
The biggest losses were guard Duke Miles (16.1 points, 4.5 assists in 2025-26), forward Tyler Nickel (13.5 points), forward Devin McGlockton (9.5 points, 6.8 rebounds) and forward Jalen Washington (8.9 points, 5.6 rebounds), who are out of eligibility.
Forward AK Okereke (9.6 points, 3.6 rebounds, 2.0 assists) may be in the same boat, as he’ll need a waiver to obtain another year of eligibility.
In addition, five Vandy players entered the transfer portal, with guard Mike James committing to South Florida and guard Jaylon Dean-Vines committing to McNeese State. Forward Tyler Harris, guard Frankie Collins and guard George Kimble III have not yet committed to new schools.
It’s also possible that superstar guard Tyler Tanner might head to the NBA, after the Brentwood native averaged 19.5 points, 5.1 assists and 3.6 rebounds as a sophomore in 2025-26.
The only definite returnees — at this point — are guard Chandler Bing (3.6 points, 1.6 rebounds this season) and center Jayden Leverett (1.0 points, 1.2 rebounds). The Commodores are expected to add three incoming freshmen in point guard Baylor Allen, guard Ethan Mgbako and center Jackson Sheffield.
