The Vanderbilt Commodores are loading up in the transfer portal.
Mark Byington and Co. landed a commitment from former Missouri guard T.O. Barrett on Wednesday afternoon, the fifth transfer portal addition of the offseason thus far. Barrett caught fire and found his way into the starting lineup in SEC play.
Barrett averaged 8.6 points, 3 assists and 1.2 steals per game at a solid 46% clip from the floor, doing all this across 22 minutes per game. His best game of the season, by far, came against Tennessee when he scored a season-high 28 points with 5 rebounds to help the Tigers upset Vanderbilt’s rival.
Barrett’s entry into the portal came as a bit of a surprise to Tigers fans, but now he’s set to play for a Vanderbilt team that still awaits the decision of standout guard Tyler Tanner.

Vanderbilt has lost a lot this offseason, but Byington’s third team in Nashville is really starting to come together. Alongside Barrett the Commodores added Auburn’s Sebastian Williams-Adams, Colorado’s Bangot Dak, Washington State’s Ace Glass and Nebraska’s Berke Buyuktuncel.
All eyes are now focused squarely on Tyler Tanner. If he returns the Commodores could have one of the best 5 rosters in the league next season.
