Tennessee Basketball picked up a massive ranked win on Saturday afternoon with a rivalry victory over No. 19 Vanderbilt in Nashville. The Vols won the hard-fought game by a score of 69-65 with a balanced effort and some huge showings from role players.
Tennessee had scoring performances from a handful of players on Saturday, including Ja’Kobi Gillespie with 17, Nate Ament with 13, Bishop Boswell with nine, DeWayne Brown with eight, Felix Okpara with eight, and Jaylen Carey with seven. Ament nearly recorded a double-double on the day with nine total rebounds, as well.
The Volunteers now move to 20-7 on the season with a 10-4 record in conference play. Tennessee will stay on the road for a matchup at Missouri on Tuesday night.
