COLUMBIA, Mo. (KCTV) – One of the leaders of the Missouri Tigers has been named to an All-SEC team for the second year in a row.
Senior forward Mark Mitchell has been named to the All-SEC Second Team, a year after he was named to the All-SEC Third Team as a junior. Mitchell has averaged 17.9 points, 5.2 rebounds and 3.6 assists per game this season.
He’s on pace to become the second player in Mizzou history to lead the Tigers in points, rebounds and assists in a single season.
The Kansas City, Kansas, native and former Bishop Miege star ranks eighth in the SEC in scoring this season and is a big reason the Tigers are in line to go to the NCAA Tournament for the third time in Dennis Gates’ four seasons in Columbia.
During Saturday’s overtime loss to Arkansas, Mitchell became the 49th player in Mizzou history to surpass 1,000 career points as a Tiger.
