Vanderbilt baseball begins a three-game SEC series against the Tennessee Volunteers on March 27 (7 p.m. CT, ESPNU) at Hawkins Field in Nashville, and tickets to each game are very limited.
The in-state foes have split their last 10 meetings, but the injury-plagued Commodores (14-12, 2-4 SEC), who recently announced they will be without starting pitcher Austin Nye, have lost five of their last six.
The Vols (18-7, 3-3) are coming off beating Missouri 2-1 over three games for their first SEC series win since April 2025. Tennessee most recently defeated USC Upstate 4-2 on March 24.
This will be the first meeting between the teams since Tennessee coach Tony Vitello left to become manager of the San Francisco Giants.
There is a 70% chance of rain on the afternoon of March 27, with temperatures expected to drop to chilly levels by evening. It is expected to be 60 degrees and sunny on March 28, and 71 degrees and party cloudy on March 29.
