Senior Night? Senior Night.
Tonight is Senior Night, and if it feels like it’s a little early for Senior Night, well, that’s because it is. Remember, Vanderbilt was supposed to have one more home game against Ole Miss next week, but the Commodores and the Rebels swapped home and road games because of that snowstorm a month ago.
Somehow, Senior Night doesn’t feel as special when instead of guys finishing out their fourth year (or fifth or sixth year, if you’re Josh Henderson) at Vanderbilt, it’s guys who have been with the team for one or two years at most, and who might get additional eligibility because everyone gets additional eligibility except Joey Aguilar. The seniors on the roster are Duke Miles, Tyler Nickel, AK Okereke, Devin McGlockton, and Jalen Washington. (And also Frankie Collins and Mason Nicholson, but those two haven’t even been seen on the bench lately.)
Vanderbilt has a 21-6 record, 8-6 in the SEC, and probably needs to win a few more to get a top-4 seed in the NCAA Tournament. Georgia is 19-8 and… somehow their coach is kind of disliked for only being 19-8? Weird, I know. Game is an early one, 6 PM CT on the SEC Network.
