A total of five Commodores are set to come back to Vanderbilt Legends Club this week
FRANKLIN, Tenn. — There will be a total of five Vanderbilt men’s golf alumni set to return to Vanderbilt Legends Club this week for the opening leg of the Korn Ferry Tour Finals. Play takes place Thursday-Sunday on the North Course and airs live on Golf Channel.
Will Gordon (Class of 2019), Theo Humphrey (Class of 2018), Matthew Riedel (Class of 2024), Cole Sherwood (Class of 2024) and Jackson Van Paris (Class of 2025) will participate in the Simmons Bank Open for the Snedeker Foundation, the first stop on the Korn Ferry Tour Finals. Play begins Thursday at 6:40 a.m. on the North Course at Vanderbilt Legends.
Gordon will be the first Vandy alum to tee off this week, as he opens Round 1 at 7:30 a.m. on Hole 1. Also teeing off from the first tee will be Humphrey at 8:35 a.m. and Sherwood at noon. Riedel and Van Paris both begin play on Hole 10, as Riedel tees off at 1:15 p.m., while Van Paris begins at 1:25 p.m.

Golfers who are inside the top 156 on the Korn Ferry Tour Points List after the event at Vanderbilt Legends move on to the Nationwide Children’s Hospital Championship on Sept. 17-20. From there, 132 golfers advance to the next round of the Korn Ferry Tour Finals on Oct. 1-4 at the Compliance Solutions Championship. The 2026 Korn Ferry Tour Championship takes place Oct. 8-11 in French Lick, Indiana, where the top 60 golfers on the points list will play for 20 PGA TOUR cards for the upcoming season.
Sherwood heads into the Korn Ferry Tour Finals ranked No. 5, as he is assured his PGA TOUR card for next season. Van Paris opens the week ranked No. 69, while Riedel (No. 83) and Gordon (No. 97) also sit inside the top 100 on the Korn Ferry Tour Points List at the beginning of the Korn Ferry Tour Finals. Live coverage returns Saturday and Sunday from 4-6 p.m. CT.
