No. 6 Vanderbilt continues the 2026 fall season at the Inverness Intercollegiate
TOLEDO, Ohio – The No. 6-ranked Vanderbilt men’s golf team continues its 2026 fall campaign this week as the Commodores head to the Buckeye State to participate in the 18th Inverness Intercollegiate. The three-day tournament in Toledo, Ohio, begins Sunday and concludes Tuesday at Inverness Club. ESPN+ will stream live coverage on Monday and Tuesday.
Tournament Format and Schedule
The Inverness Intercollegiate, hosted by Toledo, is a 54-hole stroke play tournament that features five-count-four team scoring. This will be the tournament’s 18th edition, dating back to 2000.
Teams will play 18 holes per day, with each round starting at 7 a.m. CT. A team champion and individual medalist will be awarded at the end of Round 3.
Tee Times
Vanderbilt tees off the first round on Sunday between 10:20 and 11 a.m. CT from Hole 1. The No. 6-ranked Commodores will be paired with No. 9 LSU and No. 22 Ole Miss in Round 1.
Play on Monday and Tuesday is slated to begin at 7 a.m. CT, with teams teeing off from Hole 1. Pairings and tee times for Rounds 2 and 3 will be determined based on results from the previous round.

Course Information
The Inverness Club, founded in 1903, is a 7,554-yard course that plays as a par 71. It has served as host for the 2009 NCAA Men’s Golf Championships, four U.S. Opens, two U.S. Senior Opens, two PGA Championships and one U.S. Amateur.
The Field
A total of 18 teams will be in attendance for the Inverness Intercollegiate, including seven teams ranked in the 2026-27 Bushnell/Golfweek Coaches’ Poll and four squads that earned votes.
Teams competing against the No. 6 Commodores this week are No. 2 Auburn, No. 5 Texas Tech, No. 7 Tennessee, No. 9 LSU, No. 17 Oklahoma, No. 22 Ole Miss, Clemson (RV), Purdue (RV), Wake Forest (RV), Virginia (RV), Austin Peay, East Tennessee State, Iowa, Loyola Marymount, Michigan, Ohio State, and host Toledo.

All three rounds of the Inverness Intercollegiate will be streamed. Sunday’s round will feature two holes of coverage on YouTube. Monday’s and Tuesday’s rounds air live on ESPN+ from noon to 4 p.m. CT.

Vanderbilt at the Inverness Intercollegiate
This will be the third time the Commodores will play in the Inverness Intercollegiate. Vanderbilt last participated in the event during the 2024-25 season, where the Dores tied for third with a score of 3-over 831. Vandy played in its first Inverness Intercollegiate during the 2004-05 season and placed 14th overall.
Vanderbilt Lineup
1) Will Hartman – So. – Marvin, N.C. – 2026-27 Scoring Avg: 67.67 – WAGR: 95th
The sophomore leads off the Vanderbilt lineup for the second straight tournament to open the 2026-27 season. Hartman began his second season with the Commodores by tying for fourth at the Visit Knoxville Collegiate, carding 7-under 203. It was the third consecutive top-five finish for the Marvin, North Carolina, native dating back to last season. Hartman comes into the Inverness Intercollegiate having scored par or lower in 18 of his last 21 rounds.
2) Carlos Astiazaran – Sr. – Tucson, Ariz. – 2026-27 Scoring Avg: 70.00 – WAGR: 63rd
The senior is coming off his best overall performance in a tournament as a Commodore to open the 2026-27 campaign. The Tucson, Arizona, native carded even par over 54 holes to tie for 30th at the Visit Knoxville Collegiate. The senior carded 2-under 68 in Round 2 to post his third under-par round at Vandy. It will be the fifth time that Astiazaran will be in the Vanderbilt lineup.
3) Jon Ed Steed – So. – Enterprise, Ala. – 2026-27 Scoring Avg: 70.00 – WAGR: 112th
The sophomore makes his 2026-27 season debut in the Commodore lineup after playing as an individual at the Visit Knoxville Collegiate. The Enterprise, Alabama, native makes his 12th appearance in the Vanderbilt lineup. Steed carded even par over three rounds in the season opener to tie for 30th. Steed is coming off a freshman campaign that saw him earn GCAA All-America Freshman Team and SEC All-Freshman Team honors.
4) Tyler Mawhinney – Fr. – Fleming Island, Fla. – Career Scoring Avg: 70.67 – WAGR: 92nd
A member of Vanderbilt’s No. 1-ranked 2026 signing class, Mawhinney will be making his Vandy playing in the Vanderbilt lineup for the second time. The Fleming Island, Florida, native made history in his Commodore debut at the Visit Knoxville Collegiate, as the freshman carded 5-under 65 in Round 2 to set the Vanderbilt record for the lowest 18-hole score on a debut day.
5) Michael Riebe – So. – Encinitas, Calif. – Career Scoring Avg: 70.67 – WAGR: 83rd
The Encinitas, California, native makes his 11th appearance in the Vanderbilt lineup to open his sophomore season. Riebe opened the 2026-27 by carding 2-over 212 at the Visit Knoxville Collegiate to tie for 38th. The sophomore closed out play in Knoxville by carding a season-low 2-under 68.
Last Time Out
The Commodores opened the 2026-27 season with a fifth-place finish at the Visit Knoxville Collegiate, as Vandy carded 8-under 832 over three rounds. The Dores concluded their season-opening tournament with round scores of 282-274-276.
