College basketball games today: Monday's exhibition schedule features Marquette, Vanderbilt and South Florida – Busting Brackets

College basketball fans have three men's exhibition games to follow Monday as programs continue preparing for the 2026-27 season.
The schedule features Marquette traveling to Green Bay, UAB visiting Vanderbilt and Saint Leo facing South Florida in Tampa. Although Monday's slate is considerably smaller than Sunday's collection of major-conference matchups, there are still several interesting storylines worth following.
Marquette and Green Bay provide an appealing in-state matchup, while Vanderbilt gets another opportunity to evaluate its roster against Division I competition. South Florida also takes the floor against a Division II opponent as the Bulls continue their preseason preparations.
These games won't count toward regular-season records, but they provide important opportunities for coaches to evaluate rotations, experiment with different combinations and identify areas that need improvement.
Here is Monday's men's college basketball exhibition schedule. All times are Eastern.
All three games have been confirmed through official athletic department schedules. No television or video streaming coverage has been confirmed for Monday's exhibitions.
Monday's most recognizable matchup features Marquette traveling to Green Bay for a 7:30 p.m. ET exhibition at the Resch Center.
The Golden Eagles enter another season under Shaka Smart, while Green Bay continues preparing under Doug Gottlieb.
The matchup provides an opportunity for two Wisconsin programs to compete before the regular season begins. Although the schools operate in different conferences, their geographic proximity creates an appealing preseason atmosphere.
Green Bay has scheduled two notable home exhibitions against in-state opponents this October. The Phoenix hosted Wisconsin on October 15 before preparing to welcome Marquette four days later.
Those games provide valuable opportunities for Green Bay to evaluate its roster against programs accustomed to competing in major conferences.
For Marquette, Monday's exhibition offers an early opportunity to assess its progress before another demanding season in the Big East.
Smart has established a program that emphasizes defensive pressure, player development and collective effort. Exhibition games provide an opportunity to determine which players are prepared to handle significant responsibilities.
The Golden Eagles also have another important preseason matchup approaching.
Marquette is scheduled to host Michigan State on October 25 at Fiserv Forum in Milwaukee. That exhibition will be available on YouTube, according to the school's official schedule.
Monday's contest against Green Bay will provide valuable preparation before that meeting.
Marquette's athletic department lists radio coverage through 94.5 ESPN Milwaukee. No video streaming destination has been confirmed for the game.
Vanderbilt will host UAB at 7 p.m. ET in one of Monday's two matchups between Division I programs.
The exhibition takes place at Memorial Gymnasium in Nashville and provides another opportunity for the Commodores to prepare for Southeastern Conference competition.
Vanderbilt enters the season with considerable momentum after finishing 27-9 during the 2025-26 campaign.
The Commodores went 11-7 in SEC play and earned an NCAA Tournament appearance before suffering a narrow postseason loss to Nebraska.
One of Vanderbilt's most important returning players is Tyler Tanner, who averaged 19.5 points, 5.1 assists and 2.4 steals last season.
Tanner received preseason first-team All-SEC recognition, providing the Commodores with an established leader entering another demanding conference schedule.
However, Vanderbilt also features a relatively young roster.
The Commodores have seven freshmen and four sophomores, creating an interesting combination of experienced leadership and developing talent.
Monday's exhibition offers an opportunity to evaluate how those players fit together.
UAB provides a challenging opponent under head coach Andy Kennedy.
The Blazers are coming off their sixth consecutive 20-win season under Kennedy, who enters his seventh year leading his alma mater.
UAB has added 11 players to its roster, including six Division I transfers, three junior college transfers and two freshmen.
That significant roster turnover makes preseason evaluation especially important.
Kennedy will have an opportunity to examine his team's performance against SEC competition before another exhibition at Ole Miss on October 27.
Monday's game will not be streamed on ESPN+, and Vanderbilt has indicated that fans must attend in person to watch the exhibition.
South Florida will host Saint Leo at the Yuengling Center in Tampa on Monday evening.
Tipoff is scheduled for 7 p.m. ET, with audio coverage available through Bulls Unlimited.
The exhibition provides an opportunity for South Florida to evaluate its roster against outside competition before beginning the regular season.
Saint Leo competes at the NCAA Division II level, making the matchup an opportunity for the Bulls to experiment with different lineups and give players valuable preseason minutes.
Exhibition games against lower-division opponents can be useful because they allow coaching staffs to evaluate their systems in a competitive environment without the pressure of regular-season standings.
South Florida will also have the advantage of playing in its familiar home arena.
The Bulls are scheduled to begin the regular season November 2 against Charleston Southern before traveling to DePaul on November 5.
Those games will provide early opportunities to evaluate South Florida's progress against Division I competition.
Monday's exhibition represents another step in that preparation.
Monday's schedule features three games beginning within 30 minutes of one another.
UAB and Vanderbilt tip off at 7 p.m. ET, providing an opportunity to follow two programs preparing for demanding conference schedules.
Saint Leo and South Florida also begin at 7 p.m., with radio coverage available through Bulls Unlimited.
Marquette and Green Bay conclude the evening's scheduled tipoffs at 7:30 p.m., with radio coverage available through 94.5 ESPN Milwaukee.
For fans looking for the most recognizable matchup, Marquette at Green Bay is an appealing choice because of the schools' in-state connection.
Vanderbilt and UAB offer another interesting matchup between Division I programs, particularly given the Commodores' returning talent and the Blazers' significant roster changes.
Although Monday's exhibition schedule is relatively small, the games provide another opportunity to evaluate programs before the 2026-27 regular season officially begins November 2.
