Auburn football is looking to fix one of the biggest holes in their program, losing early on in the college football transfer portal
It has been a disappointing run as of late for Auburn Football. This led the university to fire Hugh Freeze and bring in Alex Golesh, who attempted to hit the college football transfer portal hard. Still, Auburn was one of the transfer portal losers, losing more than they brought in.
Now, Alex Golesh is attempting to fill one more hole heading into the summer, while battling Vanderbilt for a new offensive lineman, per Pete Nakos of On3.
Vincent Chen, a 6-foot-8, 328-pound offensive lineman out of Stetson University, is still available in the transfer portal. Chen will visit Vanderbilt on Tuesday and then visit Auburn on Thursday.
Auburn is in desperate need of some depth on the offensive line. They do not bring back a starter from last year's offensive line, and brought in nine new transfer linemen coming in, some of them coming from USF. Still, as Nakos wrote,  “The offensive line is the biggest question mark on Auburn’s roster going into the summer.”
Chen could also head to Vanderbilt, which is returning one starter and retooled through prior depth and the transfer portal. They are coming off their best season in program history, and Clark Lea has been fantastic in the portal. The addition of Chen would add more depth to an already solid line
Regardless, adding such a large offensive lineman could be a huge help. He played in five games as a freshman and then all 12 games as a sophomore. He has also been named an All-Pioneer Football League honorable mention player.
