Texas A&M (17–7, 7–4 SEC) has hit its first real turbulence of the season, dropping three straight and watching its early‑season momentum evaporate. Now the Aggies face a critical Quad 1 opportunity on the road against No. 19 Vanderbilt (20–4, 7–4 SEC) — a game they can’t afford to let slip if they want to preserve the goodwill they built through the first half of league play.
With seven games remaining, the margin for error is shrinking fast. A&M is firmly in must‑win territory if it hopes to present a strong résumé to both the SEC Tournament bracket and the NCAA Tournament selection committee. Even reaching ten SEC wins may not be enough to feel secure on Selection Sunday, making every remaining game — starting with this one — a must‑have.
