Going into Wednesday night, Alabama Basketball and Texas A&M were unranked in the mostly pointless AP Poll. Alabama got a close win in a game that showcased two teams capable of beating highly ranked AP teams.
Alabama's 100-97 win pushed the Aggies into a first-place tie in the SEC, joining Florida at 7-2. Four more teams are currently above Alabama: Kentucky is 7-3, Vanderbilt, Tennessee, and Arkansas are 6-3. Joining Alabama at 5-4 are Auburn and Missouri. The Crimson Tide has much work to do to gain a double-bye in the SEC Tournament.
Based on multiple sources, Alabama is currently projected as an NCAA Tournament 5-seed or 6-seed.
