The 247Sports scouting team unveiled the final Top247 for the 2026 college football recruiting class Monday, featuring a surprising shift among the top quarterbacks. Houston signee Keisean Henderson held steady at No. 1 overall while Vanderbilt‘s Jared Curtis leapfrogged Tennessee‘s Faizon Brandon within the top three.
Brandon held the No. 1 ranking for nearly seven months after his senior season at Greensboro (N.C.) Grimsley. At that time, Henderson was No. 19 nationally while Curtis ranked eighth. 247Sports director of scouting Andrew Ivins explained the repositioning among the elite passers that led to their final rankings.
Henderson entered the rankings as an athlete Aug. 16, 2023, at No. 70 and steadily developed into one of the top quarterbacks in the 2026 class during his high school career at Spring (Texas) Legacy the School of Sport Sciences.
“We’ve never had an athlete finish as a five-star quarterback, let alone the No. 1 player in the nation,” Ivins said Monday on CBS Sports HQ.
