Vanderbilt basketball will hit the road for another midweek matchup as it gets set to take on Missouri.
The Commodores (21-4, 8-4 SEC) are coming off wins over Auburn and Texas A&M this past week.
Missouri (17-8, 7-5) beat Texas A&M, but lost to Texas.
As Vanderbilt heads to Mizzou Arena for the matchup Feb. 17 (8 p.m. CT, SEC Network), the upcoming game against Tennessee is looming.
Here is our prediction:
Every player on Missouri’s roster is listed at least 6-foot-3. Eight players are 6-8 or taller.
Vanderbilt has struggled at times with big teams, like Florida and Arkansas. But the Tigers’ size comes with pros and cons.
Missouri is one of the best teams in the country around the rim, but the Tigers are poor free throw shooters, which has the potential to hurt them if the game is close.
Missouri is one of only two SEC teams to beat Florida this season and also beat Auburn and Kentucky on the road. But the Tigers also have losses to Notre Dame, Ole Miss and LSU.
While Vanderbilt has had some volatility as well, most notably the home loss to Oklahoma, Missouri’s inconsistency has been on a different level.
It’s worth noting that most of the Tigers’ biggest wins have come at home, providing a new challenge to the Commodores in a road matchup.
Duke Miles and Frankie Collins both missed the game against Texas A&M with injuries. While they both could return this season, it is not clear if that will be for this game.
For Missouri, Jevon Porter and Annor Boateng have had long-term injuries.
Vanderbilt 82, Missouri 76
