Jasper Ngokwere, a four-star offensive tackle from Richardson, Texas, in the 2027 class, committed to Vanderbilt football, he announced June 4.
The No. 306 player nationally in the 247Sports Composite, the 6-foot-6, 290-pound Ngokwere chose Vanderbilt over Texas Tech, Texas and Northwestern.
Gabe Brooks of 247Sports described him as, “Projects as a P4 tackle who could become a high-major starter with long-term NFL Draft upside.”
Ngokwere is the highest-rated offensive lineman to commit to Vanderbilt under coach Clark Lea. In previous seasons, Lea has built his offensive line mostly through the transfer portal and has largely not been able to land difference-making linemen out of high school. Ngokwere could change that.
The Commodores add Ngokwere to a 2027 class that also includes four-star recruits Omarii Sanders (a linebacker) and Grant Haviland (a tight end). With Ngokwere’s addition, the class ranks No. 36 nationally as summer recruiting season is just getting underway.
