Former Vanderbilt quarterback Diego Pavia congratulated Vanderbilt women’s basketball on its season, following its performance in the Sweet 16 in the Women’s NCAA Tournament.
“I want to congratulate the @VandyWBB team on such a great season! It was great watching you ladies this year, and (just) inspired a lot of us around the world,” he said on X, formerly known as Twitter. “I can’t wait for the next few seasons.”
“Vandy, please do whatever it takes to keep these ladies on the team. They are special!”
Pavia was spotted at the Sweet 16 game in Fort Worth, Texas.
The Commodores (29-5) fell to Notre Dame (25-10) 67-64 in the Sweet 16 on March 27 at Dickies Arena. The Commodores are led by sophomore guard Mikayla Blakes, who led the nation in scoring, averaging 27 points per game. Blakes scored 26 points against Notre Dame.
Vanderbilt’s coach Shea Ralph became the coach of the Commodores in 2021, and led the program to its first Sweet 16 since 2018.
