Senior becomes first Commodore to ever win the awardNASHVILLE, Tenn. — Vanderbilt’s Nick Rinaldi has been named the SEC Football Scholar-Athlete of the Year the league office announced on Thursday. He is the first-ever member of the program to earn the honor since its inception in 2003.The senior linebacker from Dover, Massachusetts, joined the program as a walk on in 2022 but has become a key part of the Commodores’ defensive and special teams units.He has played in all 12 contests for the Commodores this fall, posting 42 total tackles including seven stops for loss with 3½ sacks.
