Vanderbilt, Teamworks Influencer launch NIL-focused entity – Nashville Post

Vanderbilt Athletics has teamed with Teamworks Influencer to launch name, image and likeness-related portal Anchor Access Exchange, the university announced Thursday.
According to a release, the purpose of the entity will be to expand NIL opportunities for Commodores student-athletes across 17 sports by directly connecting them with businesses, brands and supporters locally and by expanding connections across Vandy’s national reach.
Free to student-athletes and commercial parties, the Anchor Access Exchange is a portal for exploring and fulfilling NIL transactions. After registering with the exchange, interested potential partners can access a database of Vanderbilt student-athletes and search, filter and initiate conversations to discuss prospective NIL deals.
 “Vanderbilt is dedicated to giving students the tools to acquire the knowledge and skills that serve them across a lifetime, and Anchor Access Exchange embodies that core value in helping our student-athletes navigate the NIL landscape,” Earl Bennett, Vanderbilt executive general manager of athletics, said in the release.
“We look forward to working with industry leader Teamworks Influencer to help student-athletes connect directly with the growing Commodore community, explore beneficial business opportunities and act with the information and resources they need to make informed decisions and maximize their NIL potential.”
Teamworks Influencer bills itself as an athlete brand-building and NIL business management app for over 270 elite collegiate and professional sports organizations. The parent company is based in Durham, N.C.
The Influencer athlete app educates student-athletes, coaches and staff for the NIL era in a safe and compliant environment. The platform also includes the Influencer Exchange, via which schools can direct businesses, collectives and fans seeking to find, communicate with, pay and report NIL transactions with student-athletes in what is a school-customized NIL exchange.
The Influencer Local Exchange seeks to maximize student-athlete revenue generation opportunities while streamlining compliance and tax reporting responsibilities.
“Vanderbilt Athletics has built a forward-thinking NIL program that prioritizes education, compliance and brand-building,” Teamworks Senior Account Executive Sean Kelly said in the release.
“We’re proud to power the Anchor Access Exchange and help student-athletes unlock new NIL opportunities with the support of their local community and beyond.”
Vanderbilt’s NIL collective is called Anchor Impact.
