The brutal stretch of Auburn basketball’s schedule continues Tuesday when the Tigers host Vanderbilt for a 6 p.m. CT tipoff in Neville Arena.
Three of Auburn basketball’s last four games have been against Quad 1 opponents, and the streak will continue for at least the next two games as the Tigers host Vanderbilt on Tuesday and travel to Arkansas on Saturday. The good news is that early projections favor Auburn to earn a home win over the Commodores on Tuesday.
According to ESPN’s early predictions, Auburn has a 56.2% chance of beating Vanderbilt on Tuesday to improve its record to 15-10 overall, and to move above .500 in SEC play at 6-5.
Vanderbilt is enjoying one of its most successful seasons in recent memory. The Commodores began the season by winning their first 16 games and have won three of their last four. Vanderbilt is 6-3 against Quad 1 teams this season, with notable wins over Alabama and Kentucky. Auburn is 14-9 and has hit a bit of a rough patch by losing two straight games. Before its current skid, Auburn won four SEC games in a row and will look to hop back on the winning trend Tuesday at home against the Commodores.
