On Friday, the window for most players to enter the NCAA transfer portal closed — and with most transfers having committed to new teams already, the majority of the action has already taken place. Vanderbilt holds commitments from 17 transfers as of Tuesday; the class sits at No. 40 nationally according to 247Sports’ team transfer rankings.
Vandy took 20 transfers last offseason, so this is a slightly smaller incoming class. Nine of 17 commits play offense, six play defense and two are specialists. Given that the Commodores lost a large handful of fifth- or sixth-year players on offense, it is no surprise that they needed slightly more reinforcements on that side of the ball.
With no spring transfer portal window this year, Vandy’s roster is almost set for 2026 since players can no longer transfer out of the program through traditional means. Overall, the ‘Dores saw 17 players transfer out — slightly less than last year’s 20 outgoing players.
Given that context, here is a recap of big-picture themes and notes on Vandy’s activity in the transfer portal with an understanding that the Commodores might not be completely done.
