Oklahoma women’s basketball lost its second consecutive game on Monday.
The Sooners, which were vaulted back into the top 10 in this week’s poll, fell to fifth-ranked Vanderbilt 102-86 on the road in Nashville.
OU shot an abysmal 2 for 24 from 3 and forfeited 22 turnovers in the loss.
Two Commodores — Mikayla Blakes and Aubrey Galvin — finished with 30 plus-points apiece. Blakes finished with 34 points and six assists, while Galvin scored 30 on 10 for 15 shooting from the field.
The Sooners struggled from the outset, falling behind 31-19 at the end of the first quarter and 59-49 at halftime.
OU point guard and true freshman star Aaliyah Chavez scored 14 points and shot 0 for 11 from 3-point range. Center Raegan Beers led the Sooners with 19 points on 9 for 10 shooting with 11 rebounds, but fouled out.
The Sooners have significant work to do to get back into the hosting picture. OU’s final six games, however, will be the first six-game stretch during conference play that the Sooners won’t face a top-10 team.
OU hosts Florida at 6 p.m. Thursday inside Lloyd Noble Center in Norman.
