Vanderbilt women’s basketball defeated No. 11 Oklahoma 102-86 at Memorial Gymnasium on Feb. 9.
Mikayla Blakes and Aubrey Galvan were electric offensively for the eighth-ranked Commodores (23-2, 9-2 SEC) with Galvan putting up a career high with 30 points, going 10-for-15 from the field and 7-for-9 from the free-throw line. Blakes put up 34 points plus six assists, her eighth game with 30 or more points this season.
Only the five starters for Vanderbilt scored. Justine Pissott had 16 points and Ndjakalenga Mwenentanda had 13 points, nine rebounds and three steals.
This was the fourth ranked win for the Commodores this season.
Oklahoma star Raegan Beers had 19 points and 11 rebounds before fouling out of the game.
Vanderbilt led, 99-80, with 4:26 left in the game at the final media timeout. Blakes is up to 34 points and Galvan has 30.
After a high-scoring third quarter, Vanderbilt held an 85-68 lead. Mikayla Blakes is up to 34 points.
Both teams scored seemingly at will throughout the third quarter, with Vanderbilt maintaining a 74-54 lead at the media timeout with 4:33 to go in the quarter.
Vanderbilt led, 31-19, after the first quarter thanks to a 65% shooting performance from the field, including 11 early points from Aubrey Galvan.
Vanderbilt used a 12-2 run in the first quarter to gain separation early, taking a 17-9 lead into the first media timeout with 4:28 left in the quarter.

Vanderbilt did not list any injuries on its availability report other than Madison Greene. Oklahoma has no known injury.
