Vanderbilt faculty, staff and students are eligible to receive complimentary tickets for the football team’s season opener against Charleston Southern at 6 p.m. on Saturday, Aug. 30, celebrating the exciting next chapter for head coach Clark Lea’s Commodores and a community that lives, works and cheers together.
Faculty and staff tickets to FirstBank Stadium are provided through support from the provost and the university’s vice chancellors. Availability and distribution details vary, so please check with your office for specifics.
Students got an email earlier this week with instructions on how to claim their tickets. Distribution of student tickets will begin Sunday evening.
After one of the most unforgettable seasons (and postseasons) in recent memory—now featured in an episode of Netflix’s Any Given Saturday—E. Bronson Ingram Chair in Football Lea and his team are committed to proving the best is yet to come at FirstBank Stadium.
And in this new era of collegiate athletics, when collaboration is more important than ever, the game against Charleston Southern is an opportunity for the Vanderbilt and Nashville communities to come together and support a team that’s dedicated to discipline, development and a relentless pursuit of progress under the reigning SEC Coach of the Year.
With a special theme of “Vandy United,” the season opener is also the first opportunity for Commodore Nation to experience the new look, feel and taste of game day.
The opener is the debut of the new south end zone facility, a cornerstone of Vandy United’s long-term vision to reimagine the footprint of Vanderbilt Athletics. In addition to six new premium seating areas, fans can load up on Dore gear in a new team superstore. The reimagined south end zone also features a mother’s room, sensory room and guest services room.
Throughout the stadium, with the concourse now fully encircling the stands, fans will find new concession stands and grab-and-go markets. New menu items include burgers and fries, chicken tenders, hot chicken and birria tacos.
The game-day experiences get going even before fans get to their seats. Beginning two and a half hours before kickoff, a new Star Walk routes the team through the heart of Vandyville.
And speaking of Vandyville, in addition to tailgating tents, live music and big screens showing all the day’s gridiron action, the Max Nance Kids’ Zone is back and better than ever with at least five inflatables, a face painter, balloon artists and activities for all ages.
The game against Charleston Southern is the first of seven home games this season. For more information visit vucommodores.com.
