NASHVILLE, Tenn. – The No. 5/6-ranked Vanderbilt women’s basketball team returns to Memorial Gymnasium for a Sunday matinee against the Florida Gators. Tipoff is set for 3 p.m. CT and airs nationwide on SEC Network.
Sunday’s contest is Vanderbilt women’s basketball’s annual $1 as part of National Girls and Women in Sports Day and the Grow the Game celebrations at Memorial Gym. Fans can purchase tickets by clicking the link here.
Starting Five
>> Vanderbilt looks to snap a two-game skid on Sunday, as the Dores have dropped back-to-back top-25 contests against No. 17 Ole Miss (75-83) on Friday in Birmingham, Alabama, and at No. 2 South Carolina (74-103) last Sunday. The Commodores stand at 20-2 overall on the year and 6-2 in SEC play.
>> Vandy’s 20-2 start marks the second-best start through the first 22 games in program history. Only the 1992-93 Final Four team has had a better start to a season, as that squad went 21-1 through its first 22 contests.
>> Vanderbilt has won 12-straight games at Memorial Gym since the end of the 2024-25 season. The Commodores are 57-21at home under head coach Shea Ralph, and 36-9 at home since the start of the 2023-24 season.
>> Sunday’s contest is the final game Vanderbilt will play against a non-top-25-ranked team this season, as of the time of print. After the game against Florida, the Commodores will play seven-straight contests against ranked foes.
>> The Dores and Gators meet for the 66th time in a series dating back to the 1978-79 season. Vanderbilt leads the series 36-29 and has won two of the last three games against Florida. Vandy is 3-3 vs. UF under head coach Shea Ralph, while the Commodores are 18-10 all-time against the Gators at Memorial Gym. Vanderbilt has won two-straight home games against Florida.

National Rankings
The Commodores came in at No. 5 in the Associated Press top 25 and No. 6 in the USA Today/WBCA Coaches poll this week. This season marks the first time since the 2001-02 season that the Dores have been ranked in the top 10 in both major college women’s basketball polls.
NET Ranking
Vanderbilt holds a NET ranking of nine heading into Sunday. Vandy has collected three Quad 1 wins, three Quad 2 victories and six Quad 3 wins through the first 22 games this season.
The Dores opened the season at No. 12 in the first NET rankings of the 2025-26 season. The NET is an evaluation tool used by the NCAA Selection Committee to determine seeding and bids.
Showing Range
Vanderbilt ranks sixth in the nation in 3-pointers made per game at 9.6, while its 36.9 percent 3-point field goal percentage is 16th-best in the country.
Senior Justine Pissott leads the SEC with 65 made 3-pointers, while her 43.3 percent success rate from behind the arc is second-best in the SEC. Pissott’s 65 made 3-pointers also ranks ninth in all of NCAA Division I.
Balanced Scoring
Vanderbilt has had three or more players score double-digit points in 20 of its 22 games to open the 2025-26 season. Recently, the Commodores had three players record double-figure points against Ole Miss on Friday.
Career-Best Season
A total of three Vandy upperclassmen are having career-best seasons in 2025-26. Senior Justine Pissott (11.8 ppg), graduate Ndjakalenga Mwenentanda (8.90ppg) and junior Aiyana Mitchell (7.4 ppg) are all posting career-high scoring averages through the first 22 games of the season.
Scouting the Gators
Florida holds a 13-10 overall record and a 1-7 mark in the SEC play. The Gators are ranked No. 55 in the NET ranking. UF has lost two-straight games, most recently dropping an 88-68 contest at home against No. 4-ranked Texas. The Gators are in Year 5 under head coach Kelly Rae Finley, who is 88-70 during her time in Gainesville.
Sophomore Liv McGill (22.6 ppg) leads a trio of Gators who average double-digit points this season. Sophomore Me’Arah O’Neal is putting up 13.7 points per outing, while pulling down a team-best 6.7 rebounds per game. Junior Laila Reynolds chips in 12.8 points per game to round out the group.
The Gators average 74.7 points per game and allow 65.2 points per game. Florida is shooting 45.0 percent from the floor and 27.5 percent from behind the arc. Defensively, UF allows opponents to shoot 39.4 percent from the field and 28.0 percent beyond the 3-point line.
